David C. McKnight, founder of Emerald City Designs (The Special Event Group), has owned and operated his business since 1993, and has built his reputation on “exceeding expectations” and creating events with “personality and style.”
From wedding receptions and mitzvahs, to corporate parties and charity fundraisers, David McKnight provides high-end floral design, accessory rentals, unique invitations, and full-service event coordination.
McKnight has grown his business with the commitment of “bringing visions to life,” and combines his cutting edge originality and attention to detail with innovative and creative floral designs. The end results are often referred to as “over-the-top” and totally unique!
From a one person operation (1993) to a vibrant, highly regarded specialty floral and event firm with a staff of over 25 employees, Emerald City Designs sets the standard for professionalism within the special event industry.
As McKnight is well known for his philosophy of “it’s all about the details,” he continues to build personal relationships with each client, which enables him to deliver a custom-designed event that reflects their own personality and never duplicates one that came before them. No two events are ever alike at Emerald City Designs.
David C. McKnight’s enthusiasm is reflected in each and every event that he delivers. His gratification comes from a happy staff, a satisfied client, and involvement in meaningful charitable projects such as The American Heart Association Heart Ball and “Go Red,” Operation Smile, “Hats Off Luncheon” for Suite Dreams, Providence Hospital, Henry Ford Health Systems – just to name a few.
With a recent relocation in 2007 to over 16,000 square feet of production area, warehouse, laundry, and showroom space, ECD combines all workable space under one roof allowing total control of each event it takes on.
