Timeless Wedding at Lovett Hall

Erin and Ian were married this past March at The Henry Ford in Dearborn, Michigan. The wedding ceremony was held at Martha Mary Chapel in the historic Greenfield Village where Erin’s grandparents were married. For the reception, Lovett Hall was decorated with ivory and golden hues creating a timeless color scheme. Centerpieces constructed of black magic roses gave a pop of color to the lovely historic ballroom. A gorgeous floral runner was featured on the head table, comprised of black magic roses and crystal cups which each showcased a rose blossom. This was a stunning and timeless event and Emerald City Designs is so pleased that we could be a part of it. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Late Fall Wedding at the Inn at St. John’s

Sarah and Keith were married this past fall at The Inn at St. John’s. The couple exchanged vows in the St. John’s chapel and then moved to the atrium for the reception. The bride’s bouquet was created with plum calla lilies wrapped in rhinestone ribbon bringing an element of sparkle to the floral design. For their wedding, Sarah and Keith chose a gorgeous color combination of plum and ivory décor which was stunning. Accents of gold were incorporated throughout the design which complemented the plum décor beautifully. A combination of unique hanging floral pomanders and tapestry with crystal spheres added a personalized touch to the atmosphere of the atrium. The up lighting and candlelight added a touch of romance and elegance their special night.

Past Bride and Groom Reminisce

In the past twenty years working in the special event industry, we at Emerald City Designs have strived to make each client’s event a memorable experience that they will cherish forever. This week, we were thrilled when Nicole, a bride from 2011 reached out to us to express how happy she was with her wedding. She shared that her and her husband were looking at their wedding photographs together and she was overwhelmed by how amazing everything turned out. We are so happy to know that after all this time the couple still looks back on their wedding day and is amazed with how we brought their vision to life.

Nicole and Chris were married in the fall of 2011 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Royal Oak and held their reception at The Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, Michigan. The décor for their wedding was in a beautiful palette of silver and ivory with accents of blush pink. Beautiful elevated arrangements incorporated traditional floral such as roses and hydrangeas with unique elements of artichokes and grapes. This combination was stunning for the couple’s elegant wedding. We are so happy that we were able to make Nicole and Chris’s wedding day so special for them to look back on for years to come.

Party at the Port!

Emerald City Designs is proud to announce their support of Party at the Port, a benefit event for Wish Upon a Wedding hosted by Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters. All proceeds from the event will be given to local terminally ill engaged couples whom without the help of Wish Upon a Wedding would not be able to have the wedding they dream of. As leaders in the special event industry, Emerald City Designs felt a strong need to give to these individuals so they too could have a beautiful wedding despite their difficult health issues.

Party at the Port will be held at 6:00 pm Friday, May 10th in Waterview Loft at Port Detroit. Attendees will be able to enjoy a gourmet strolling dinner provided by Continental Services Catering & Events as well as a premium open bar throughout the night. Evening entertainment will include live DJ’s, percussionist and a cover of everyone’s favorite crooner, Frank Sinatra. Emerald City Designs will be providing floral for the event.

Modern Monochromatic Wedding

In early fall Mary-Ann and Justin married at The Basilica of St. Mary in Livonia, Michigan. Following the ceremony, the reception was held at The Westin Book Cadillac in downtown Detroit. Mary-Ann and Justin wanted their wedding to have a modern twist on traditional elegance. By incorporating multiple table designs of different shapes and detailing, the décor of this event was simply spectacular. A monochromatic color scheme using various shades of purple was used with accents of grey and silver. Stunning elevated centerpieces were created with three floral orbs varying in shades, which created an ombre effect. Another table featured a gorgeous floral runner, which ran the length of the table and cascaded to the floor. The Jerry Ross Band provided great entertainment throughout the evening and had guests out of their seats and out on the dance floor all night. As the night concluded guests received a Detroit themed tote and cake to enjoy at home. With the modern design and fun details this event was the chic one of a kind wedding that Mary-Ann and Justin had imagined.

Fabulous Fifties Birthday!

What better way to celebrate a couple’s fiftieth birthday than to throw a 1950s birthday bash? This March at The Henry Ford Museum, Tom and Lisa asked guests to don their poodle skirts and saddle shoes and join them for a night of birthday festivities. With classic cars and vintage signs, The Henry Ford Museum provided the perfect backdrop to the inspired evening. Guests enjoyed cocktails in the museums exhibit Driving America, while a live jazz trio set the mood for the evening. In the museum plaza, dining tables reflected the sentiment of the era with pink rose centerpieces and black accenting. Guests enjoyed nostalgic tunes and a classic 1950s staple, Coney dogs as a midnight snack before the evening concluded. Congratulations to the fabulous couple and here’s to the next fifty!

A Timeless Wedding at The Inn at St. John’s

Jayme and Will were married this winter at The Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth, Michigan. Jayme, a kindergarten teacher held a special reception before the ceremony where her students enjoyed refreshments and visited with the bride-to-be. A beautiful ceremony was held in the St. John Chapel and the reception followed in the Atrium. With a palette of gold, black and red the wedding was timeless and elegant. Stunning centerpieces were constructed from black magic roses providing a pop of color to the sophisticated design. As the evening progressed, the candlelight of the atrium provided a romantic glow to the room where guests could dance the night away under the stars of the winter’s sky.

March Style Showcase

On March 16^th Emerald City Designs hosted a fabulous Style Showcase featuring some of the most exciting upcoming trends for the event industry! Our event was sponsored by Epoch Catering, Laurie Tennent Studio, Men’s WearHouse and StyleLine Magazine. Guests were able to view our amazing showroom while enjoying appetizers from Epoch Catering and meeting with our Event Managers. Men’s Warehouse even had a special tux giveaway for one lucky couple!
